New improvement service for owners of empty properties - January 2007

National Week of Action 3-7 December 2007
The message of 'USE IT OR LOSE IT' will be loud and clear on the back of 150 buses travelling throughout the boroughs in north London throughout December.
The sub-region wants to raise awareness about the assistance available to empty property owners (grants, advice and information). However, at the same time, they want to emphasise that owners who refuse to use their empty property, despite all the assistance and help that is available, are liable to enforcement action by their local authority.
London Week of Action 9-13 July 2007
The sub-region is joining forces with the Empty Homes Agency to raise awareness about the problem of empty property across the 6 boroughs, and the waste of potential homes.
TV designer/presenter Oliver Heath will be joining David Ireland (Chief Executive, Empty Homes Agency) during the week of action to help raise awareness of grants and other assistance available to aspiring and existing property owners to bring empty properties back into use.
Oliver has already worked with the sub-region to make an empty property video. He is a designer and television presenter, and has been on BBC Home Front, Changing Rooms, Heaven and Earth, Channel 4's From House to Home and ITV's Front of House. He is also very interested in environmental issues and eco-design.
